LEC Summer 2026 Storylines – Fnatic’s Rebuild and G2’s Ceiling
LEC Summer Split kicks off May 4 with two storylines that actually move TV ratings: Fnatic’s rebuild and G2’s international ceiling.
Fnatic finished Spring 6th – their worst placement in a decade. The Summer roster sees changes at top and jungle, with internal sources pointing to a more aggressive draft posture and renewed focus on early-game tempo.
G2’s test is not domestic
G2 will likely win Summer. The real question is whether they can make a deep MSI 2026 run and finally shake the “best in the West, mid-tier globally” framing that has dogged them for three years.
The EsportForge view: LEC Summer is more interesting as a feeder for international play than as a domestic narrative. Watch G2’s scrim partners.
