Pre-alpha Cyberpunk Orion footage leaked this week – setting: Chicago. Engine: UE5. Launch window: 2028.

The leaked clip shows weather effects, traversal mechanics, and a Chicago-style street layout. The protagonist is third-person by default with a first-person toggle, mirroring Cyberpunk 2077’s late-cycle camera options.

What changes from 2077

UE5 is a clean break from CDPR’s in-house engine. The Boston Studio is leading development with the Warsaw team in support. The setting shift opens narrative possibilities CDPR has telegraphed for two years.
